Sonata is a Discord music bot operated by Good Times (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what data Sonata handles and why. By adding or using Sonata, you accept this policy. It covers the bot specifically; the Kitsune-Den network privacy policy covers our websites.
What Sonata processes
Search queries & requests. When you request a track, Sonata sends your search text to the relevant platform (YouTube, Spotify, or SoundCloud) to find and stream it. Requests are used only to fulfil playback and are not stored beyond the active queue.
Voice & presence state. Sonata sees who is in a voice channel so it can join, play, and leave appropriately. Sonata does not listen to, process, or record anything you say in a voice channel — it only plays audio, it doesn't capture it.
Identifiers & settings. Sonata stores Discord server (guild) and user IDs along with server settings you choose — volume, loop mode, autoplay, DJ role, and tier. These persist so your preferences survive restarts.
Payment status. For Sonata Premium we store your server's subscription status, tier, and Stripe customer/subscription identifiers. We never see or store card numbers.
Third parties
To provide the service, limited data is shared with:
Discord — the platform Sonata runs on; Discord's own privacy policy applies.
YouTube, Spotify, and SoundCloud — search terms and track identifiers are sent to these platforms to locate and stream audio. Each has its own privacy policy governing how they log requests.
Stripe — processes Sonata Premium payments. Card details go directly to Stripe; we do not handle them.
We do not sell your data, listen to or record voice channel audio, or share data beyond the providers listed above.
Caching & retention
The current queue and now-playing state are held in memory while Sonata is connected to a voice channel and cleared once it disconnects.
Settings are kept until you change them or remove Sonata from your server, which deletes that server's stored settings.
Sonata does not keep a history of what was played or who requested it beyond the active session.
Your choices
Change server settings anytime with Sonata's slash commands (/volume, /loop, /autoplay, and others).
Remove Sonata from a server to delete that server's stored settings.
Request data access or deletion at any time — see Contact below.
Children
Sonata is intended for users who meet Discord's minimum age requirement (13+, or older where local law requires). It is not directed at children under that age.
Changes
We may update this policy; material changes are reflected by the effective date above.
